Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has released the details surround the officer-involved shooting that took place June 27 on Pirates Cove Road.
31-year-old Patrick Malone is under arrest and charged with two counts of assault on a protected person with a deadly weapon and resisting a public officer with a deadly weapon.
SWAT officers were in the process of serving a search warrant related to investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography when the shooting happened.
According to LVMPD, officers made entry into the residence on Pirates Cove at about 9 a.m. Once inside, they focused their attention on a closed bedroom door.
Officers opened the door and encountered a man pointing a handgun at them. Officers fired at the man and he dropped his gun.
No one was struck or injured as a result of the shooting.
Malone is being held at the Clark County Detention Center.
