Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Local pools tend to see big crowds when temperatures rise. But this weekend may get so hot, it may force a lot of folks to stay inside.
That's the concern at the YMCA on Meadows Lane. There are three pools and a water slide there. But the marketing director said a lot of people may choose to stay at home by the air conditioner instead.
"We're hoping for great crowds, but you never know when the temperatures get this high," said Cheryl Bella, marketing director for the YMCA of Southern Nevada. "It will be interesting to see who comes out and who decides to stay at home."
Staff at the YMCA said every hour during swimming, they make everyone get out of the pool for a five minute break to drink water. They said that's easy for kids to forget to do when they're sitting or swimming in it.
