Closing arguments being made in hep C doctor trial
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Closing arguments are taking place today in the trial of Dr. Dipak Desai.
Prosecutors say Desai is responsible for exposing 40,000 people to hepatitis C in 2007 at his Las Vegas endoscopy clinic.
Several people became infected and 77-year-old Rodolfo Meana died after becoming infected during a colonoscopy.
He has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, fraud and criminal neglect.
Nurse anesthetist Ronald Lakeman is also facing the same charges.
Desai is facing life in prison if convicted.
Prosecutors finished their closing arguments this morning.
Both defendants have pleaded not guilty
