Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A memorial gathering is scheduled this Saturday for one of the Nevada Army National Guardsmen killed in a single plane crash near the Boulder City Municipal Airport this past weekend.
Friends describe 23-year-old Cody Hall as one of the smartest, kindest young men they've ever known.
They worked with him at the Ammonix Solar Panel Plant in North Las Vegas after he moved here from the company's California plant when he was just 21.
After the plant closed, they say they were not surprised when he joined the guard.
They are devastated by his loss.
Friend and former supervisor Teresa Barber says, "He was just an outstanding human being. He would have been, he should have been given the chance."
He should have been given the chance.
For Hall's friends and former Ammonix co-workers who can't make it to California for his service, a group has organized a memorial get-together at a local pub they all frequented.
The gathering will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at Whiskey Dick's, 2750 E. Craig Road.
