Man arrested following Las Vegas body shop shooting
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A man has been arrested following a shooting at a Las Vegas body shop.
On Monday, police received calls reporting a person had been shot at the S&M Body Shop located on Dean Martin Drive.
The reports said an employee of the business had shot another employee during an altercation.
When police arrived, they made contact with Kevin Montalvo, who was holding a semi-automatic pistol ammunition magazine in the parking lot.
Two employees left the scene before the police arrival, and were headed to UMC Trauma. One of them suffered multiple gunshot wounds during the altercation.
Montalvo began experiencing chest pains and medical personnel determined he had also received a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to UMC to have surgery.
Surveillance footage shows a verbal altercation between an employee and Montalvo. A short time later, a fight broke out between them.
Montalvo is seen holding a pistol in the footage. At that time, the employee charged towards him. That's when it appears Montalvo fired at the employee.
The investigation revealed Montalvo was also injured by the firearm during the struggle.
He was arrested and booked in absentia for attempted murder with a deadly weapon, battery and discharging a firearm at an occupied structure.
