Police investigating bomb blast in northeast Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Las Vegas police are investigating what an officer called an apparent pipe bomb blast overnight that damaged a garage door and a vehicle outside a home in a northeast Las Vegas neighborhood.
Officer Laura Meltzer says no one was reported to have been injured in the incident about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Little River Court.
That's in the Sunrise Manor area off Lake Mead Boulevard east of Hollywood Boulevard.
Meltzer says the person who called police initially thought the explosion was a gunshot.
But Officer Larry Hadfield says it appears to have been a pipe bomb.
They say the department's ARMOR team is investigating.
