Man dead after shooting in northwest Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A man is dead after a shooting Monday morning at around 8:30 a.m. at an apartment complex in the northwest part of the Valley.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting took place at a complex located in the 7100 block of Smoke Ranch Road, near North Tenaya Way.

Upon arrival, police officers discovered a man outside who appeared to have been shot several times.

He was transported to University Medical Center Trauma in critical condition but died shortly after.

Police gathered information that there may have been some sort of verbal altercation before the shooting.

The shooting may be gang related. No arrests have been made and no information has been released about possible suspects.
