Free online tool provides crime information to locals
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police continue to offer a valuable tool for residents.
In April 2012, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department partnered with AlertID, an online free service that gives residents up-to-date information about crime in their neighborhood.
Since that time, more than 24,000 residents have signed up for the program.
The AlertID system continuously keeps residents aware of information put out by local, sate and federal agencies.
LVMPD pushes real-time crime and threat advisories, online community watch program, crime maps, sex offender maps and other features to Las Vegas residents who sign up.
Residents can get the information online, texted or emailed to them. There are also Android and iPhone apps available.
