Volunteers help local students start vegetable garden

CREATED Jun. 15, 2013

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Volunteers came together on Saturday to help a local elementary school grow a garden.

It's part of Project Dinner Table, which teaches students about sustainable living.

The goal is to help Gene Ward Elementary School grow a garden behind the school this summer.

Students and volunteers spent the day planting pumpkins.

When school starts back up in the fall, students will sell the pumpkins to raise money.
