Fundraiser held for man who survived flesh-eating bacteria
Doctors created a contraption to help Eddie use his iPad and send text messages.
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Eddie Garcia survived a flesh-eating bacteria, and now his friends and family are coming together to raise money.
Action News first introduced our viewers to Garcia earlier this year.
He lost his hands and feet after contracting a bacteria. It also attacked his entire body; his kidneys, liver and lungs all failed.
On Saturday, his loved ones came together for a bowling event at Sunset Station in his honor.
"It's amazing. I have so much support from all my friends and family," said Garcia.
Garcia had to learn to use prosthetic legs with a walker. He used those prosthetics to walk right out of the hospital just months ago.
