Witnesses testify about morning Vegas dancer slammed into car
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Shauna Miller is accused of being drunk and high at the time she crashed her Hummer into James White's car.
Miller was in court today to learn if she would be headed to trial.
The courtroom was full of supporters of the man she is accused of killing.
Supporters also came out for Shauna Miller.
The judge heard testimony from witnesses who saw the crash.
As the witnesses took the stand, they recounted what they saw the morning of March 23 -- a large Hummer slamming into a small Ford Escort at the intersection of Wynn and Spring Mountain roads.
“As I was merging into that one single lane going around the accident, and seeing how crushed that drivers side of the Ford escort, he was gone,” said witness Rictor Riolo.
The driver of the Escort -- 33-year-old James White -- was killed instantly.
A photograph of the crushed Escort reduced White's fiance to tears on the stand today.
Prosecutors argue Miller had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit and five times the legal limit of marijuana when she drove home from her job at the Spearmint Rhino.
After hearing from multiple witnesses, the judge decided that there was enough evidence for the case to go to trial.
Miller is scheduled to be back in court on June 24.
If convicted of felony DUI, Miller could face up to 20 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
