Number of homeless people in Clark County declines 22 percent
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- According to the results of the 2013 homeless census in Clark County, the number of homeless has decreased by 22 percent in the last two years.
Officials say that the fight against homelessness is far from over though.
The count, conducted over two days in January, revealed 7,355 homeless individuals in Clark County, including 3,034 unsheltered homeless.
The survey also estimated that 33,882 Southern Nevadans experienced homelessness at least once during the previous year.
In 2009, there were 13,338 homeless in Clark County and in 2011, there were 9,432 homeless counted.
The January count showed that homelessness in Clark County has declined almost 45 percent during the last four years.
