Dancer due in Las Vegas court in fatal DUI case
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A Las Vegas judge is due to decide Thursday if there's enough evidence for a strip club dancer to face trial in state court on a felony driving under the influence charge in a crash that killed a 33-year-old man and injured his 2-year-old son.
Prosecutors allege that 26-year-old Shauna Diane Miller had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit and a marijuana level more than five times the limit when the Hummer she was driving plowed into a Ford Escort a little before 7:30 a.m. March 23.
The crash killed James White. His son, in a car seat, received minor injuries.
Miller remains in jail.
Police say she told investigators she took Xanax and drank two beers at work overnight at the nearby Spearmint Rhino strip club.
