Erin Brockovich in fight with husband before arrest
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A fight between Erin Brockovich-Ellis and her husband drew the attention of a game warden recently at Lake Mead, which led to the arrest of the famous environmental activist.
According to a report released this morning, a game warden responded to a report of a fight at the marina.
As the warden pulled into the marina, he observed a woman throw a cellphone from the boat into the water. The woman then walked up to the man she was with and slapped him.
The woman -- later identified as Erin Brockovich-Ellis -- then started the boat and began pulling away.
The warden told her to stop and to dock the boat in a different slip. Brockovich-Ellis told the warden that she was not very good at driving the boat and the warden assisted her in docking.
As the warden talked to Brockovich-Ellis, he observed that her breath smelled of alcohol and that her speech was slurred.
The warden then tested her for intoxication, including a breathalyzer test that indicated that her blood-alcohol content level was over the legal limit.
Brockovich became a household name after a movie, starring Julia Roberts, was made about her famous fight against Pacific Gas & Electric in southern California.
