Las Vegas looking for feedback on food truck locations
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The City of Las Vegas is working on a plan to designate certain areas in downtown Las Vegas for food trucks.
Currently, the city plans on designating spots in three areas: Regional Justice Center, Las Vegas City Hall and the Bonneville Transit Center.
Rights to use the spaces will be awarded through a lottery, open only to licensed mobile food vendors. The lottery is scheduled for later this summer.
Through YourVoiceVegas.com, the city is seeking input from the public on where else they would like to see permanent spots for these popular vendors.
Last year, the city council voted to create a buffer zone of 150-feet between food trucks and a restaurant so there are limitations on where these spaces may be designated.
YourVoiceVegas.com allows residents to interact with city leaders 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
As an incentive for those who participate, they will accrue points based on their level of participation and be eligible for a number of rewards such as free tickets to the Mob Museum and Cultural Affairs concerts.
