Toddler allegedly killed by father identified, report reveals details
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Clark County coroner's office has identified the three-year-old allegedly killed by his father on June 6 as Khayden Quisano.
According to a report released Monday morning, the mother of the child called 911 to report that her child had been injured at her home on Trimwater Court. She told 911 that the child had fallen while with the father.
Clark County Fire Department responded and found the child to be in cardiac arrest. He was transported to University Medical Center.
The fire department notified Las Vegas police that the child's injuries did not appear consistent with a fall and that the child had an apparent head injury.
A doctor at UMC determined that Khayden had a skull fracture and a subdural hematoma.
The doctor also determined that the child had a healing skull fracture and both lungs were severely bruised.
Homicide detectives were called to investigate. During the interview, 26-year-old Jonathan Quisano told investigators that he and Khayden and another child had been watching television when all three fell asleep.
According to Quisano, the children were later playing on the sofa when he looked over and saw that Khayden had fallen over the back of a couch.
Quisano told detectives that Khayden appeared to be frozen and was not moving. He says that he took the boy into the bathroom and splashed water on his face.
When the child allegedly began to vomit and cough up blood, he called the child's mother.
Quisano insisted to that detectives that he did not injure the child but could not offer any explanation for the multiple injuries.
After Quisano confirmed he was the only adult in the residence at the time, he was placed under arrest.
Quisano was transported to Clark County Detention Center and booked accordingly.
