Officer involved in shooting on Charleston identified
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The officer involved in a shooting this week has been identified.
It happened on Tuesday in the 3000 block of East Charleston Boulevard near Mojave.
The officer involved has been identified as 34-year-old Daniel Perry. He's been employed with Metro since Jan. of 2008.
Perry has been placed on routine paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of a review of this incident.
The incident began when a suicidal man became violent. The man's mother apparently called police after the man threatened to kill himself.
That's when officers saw him pull out an unidentified subject. They fired thinking it was a gun, but missed.
The object turned out to be a cellphone.
No one was injured in the incident.
