Man convicted in September fatal hit and run sentenced
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Thomas Rossnagel has been sentenced to 12 to 96 months in prison for a fatal hit and run last year.
Rossnagel appeared in a Las Vegas court on Monday morning.
Rossnagel was driving on Interstate 215 near Sahara Avenue when he rear-ended a car driven by 58-year-old Manny Diaz.
Diaz died as a result of the collision. Rossnagel took off after the crash and was later arrested at a private Lutheran school in Las Vegas.
Rossnagel pled guilty to felony evasion.
Judge Douglas Smith initially sentenced Rossnagel to 22 to 96 months last week. However, his attorney requested the judge to take another look at the case.
The family of Diaz, who was in court this morning, said they are relieved that he has finally been sentenced.
Supports for Rossnagel were also in court but did not want to speak to Action News.
