Law enforcement agencies educate parents on summer safety
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Local law enforcement agencies got together on Wednesday to help parents keep their children safe during summer vacation.
They talked about the Stranger Danger Program, along with drugs like bath salts and spice, underage drinking and what parents need to look out for.
They also discussed why parents might also get in trouble.
"If we respond to a graduation party, which is very popular at this time of the year, any adults that we find that are giving alcohol to minors will be arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor," said Metro Capt. John McGrath.
Police also explained why some emergency room workers refer to the summer months as "trauma season" because of the high number of children who show up with injuries.
