Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A one-year-old child has died after being hospitalized with severe head injuries this week.
The Clark Count Department of Family Services was notified of the incident on May 19, and the child died on May 27.
CCDFS said the child was brought to the hospital after he became unresponsive while in the care of an adult caregiver at a home on Tenaya near Sahara.
It was reported the injuries sustained were inconsistent with the explanation provided to medical personnel.
Detectives are looking at persons of interest at this time, but there have been no charges filed.
During the course of the investigation, Bransen Locks was contacted and subsequently arrested for unrelated charges.
Locks has previously been charged with unlawful taking of a vehicle, possession of an unregistered firearm and embezzlement.
CCDFS received two prior reports for the family; one in 2008 alleging abuse and another in 2010 also alleging abuse. However, both allegations were found unsubstantial and the cases were closed.
Action News will post more information as it becomes available.
