Las Vegas man accused of sexually assaulting children

CREATED May. 28, 2013

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A Las Vegas man is accused of sexually assaulting children, and police are seeking information on possible additional victims.

William Smith, 41, was arrested Saturday at a residence on the 2200 block of Linn Lane.

Officers were dispatched to the home to investigate reports of a missing child. When they entered the residence, they said they found Smith with another child.

Smith is a registered sex offender who's lived in Las Vegas since 2011.

The missing child was found in a different location. Both children are believed to be victims of Smith's.

Smith faces several charges including lewdness with a child, burglary, child abuse and open and gross lewdness.

Detectives believe Smith befriended several families to gain access to his victims. If anyone has concerns their child may have been a victim of Smith's, they are urged to call Metro's Sexual Assault Section at (702) 828-3421.
