Memorial Day Weekend means huge crowds in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The crowds are flocking to the Valley. Memorial Day Weekend is one of the busiest in Las Vegas. Tourism officials expect $208 million in non-gaming money to be spent in Sin City this weekend.
With so many people expected to converge in Las Vegas, there will be plenty of activities going on for visitors and locals. Special DJ's will be performing at the night clubs, there will be free concerts including the one on Fremont Street, and Wet 'N Wild opens for Gold Pass members.
Since Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer, a lot of people will be headed to Las Vegas in a vacation state of mind.
"We're looking at about 320,000 folks in town, about the same as last year," said Courtney Fitzgerald, with the LVCVA. "We usually run about 95 percent occupancy for the hotels, so nice and full. People are here and ready to have a good time."
Last year, Memorial Day Weekend was the fifth busiest of the year in Las Vegas.
