Police: Thieves targeting people walking in neighborhoods at night
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said they caught four men, who were allegedly terrorizing neighborhoods in the northwest and southwest Valley.
According to Metro, the suspects would travel in a dark SUV, with multiple guns. Detectives believe they would follow cars into gated communities at night, and rob residents at gunpoint.
Often times those residents would be out on a jog, walking their dogs, or getting out of their vehicle, when they were victimized. Investigators said the thieves typically got away with cash and iPhones.
One night, police said the suspects robbed five different people, in just two hours. They were eventually caught near Sahara and Haualapai.
But Investigators believe there could be more thieves out there operating under the same MO. They said the best thing you can do to protect yourself, is to always be aware of your surroundings.
