Action News gets sneak peak inside new Wet 'n' Wild
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It won't be long before we're facing the brutal summer heat, but a new water park is set to open its gates to help everyone stay cool and have fun.
Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas is opening Memorial Day Weekend in the southwest part of the Valley.
It's been 10 years since Las Vegas had a water park, but with new owners and investors, including Andre Agassi, the wait is almost over.
"Hottest place on earth. Why didn't we have a water park. This is great, we're excited," said Alison Anderson, gold pass holder.
Residents lined up early Wednesday to get their gold passes.
Marketing director Trevor Wilson said only VIP pass holders can get in this weekend, "It gives them a little extra benefit. It's our way of saying thank you, and also to help with attendance because we are expecting large crowds this holiday weekend."
Construction crews are still doing last-minute touch-ups on the 20-acre property, but Wilson said they'll be ready for the grand opening, "[There will be ] something for everyone. I'd say from extremes to very tame rides and stuff for the family."
The rides include: Royal Flush Extreme, Hoover Half Pipe, Red Rock Bay Wave Pool, Zip Zap Zoom and Canyon Cliffs.
The water park will open to the public for the summer on June 3.
