8 Clark County pools to open Memorial Day Weekend
Clark County, NV (KTNV) -- Eight Clark County pools and water parks will open for Memorial Day Weekend at noon on Saturday, May 25, kicking off the beginning of the summer season.
County pools will accept donations of new swimsuits for children. Youth swimsuits for boys and girls of all ages, six months and up, are needed and will be accepted throughout the summer.
Anyone who donates a swimsuit will receive a free water bottle commemorating this year's 50th anniversary of the county's Parks and Recreation Department.
"Donating a swimsuit to a child in need is a great way to get the summer off to a good start for families that are struggling economically," said Commission Chair Steve Sisolak.
The following pools and water parks will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday over the holiday weekend:
- Desert Breeze Water Park, 8275 Spring Mountain Road
- Hollywood Water Park, 1550 South Hollywood
- Cambridge Water Park, 3930 Cambridge Street
- Paradise Water Park, 4770 Harrison Drive
- Parkdale Water Park, 3200 Ferndale Street
- Walnut Water Park, 3085 Cecile Avenue
Laughlin Water Park will be open from 1-7 p.m. over Memorial Day Weekend. Overton Pool will be open on Saturday, May 25, and Monday, May 27, from 1-5 p.m. Pools opening over Memorial Day Weekend will also be open Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2, with the exception of Overton Pool, which is closed on Sundays.
Starting June 8, all county pools will be open for the summer except for Logandale Pool, which opens Monday, June 17 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
