Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Little Church of the West on the Las Vegas Strip is turning 70 on Wednesday.

The building is listed on the United States National Register of Historical Places and is the oldest chapel on the Las Vegas Strip.

The wedding chapel opened its doors in 1942 and was originally built as part of the Hotel Last Frontier complex.

It has moved three times since then.

Notable weddings at the chapel include Betty Grable and Harry James in 1943; Zsa Zsa Gabor and George Sanders in 1949; David Cassidy and Kay Lenz in 1977; Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford in 1991; and Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie in 2000.

In addition, Elvis Presley and Ann Margret recited their vows in the movie "Viva Las Vegas" at the Little Church of the West.
