Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Family and friends of 15-year-old Marcos Arenas were relieved the two suspects have been arrested in connection with his death.
On Thursday, Arenas was robbed of his iPad and then struck by a vehicle. He later died from his injuries.
Those closest to Arenas have been struggling to accept his death, but hope they can finally get some closure, now that the men accused of killing him have been captured.
18-year-old Jacob Dismont and 21-year-old Michael Samuel Solid have been charged in the crime.
"We are happy and I am glad they caught these people. They're going to be off the streets and another family doesn't have to go through this. It's not going to bring him back to us, but at least it's going to bring us some closure, some relief," said Amalia Deleon.
Action News caught up with friends and family at a car wash held just hours after the arrests were made on Sunday.
Many in the community said they were saddened by this tragic loss and wanted to donate to the family.
"I heard he had 10 kids, so instead of just paying for a car wash, I decided to give $100 because I know they would want the best funeral possible," said Kristen Couevas.
If you missed the fundraisers this weekend, a memorial fund has been set-up for the Arenas family: Marcos V Arenas 1255025601 at Wells Fargo.
