Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- New details have been released about the arrest of a volunteer coach by school district police on sexual misconduct charges.

Staff members at Shadow Ridge High School reportedly tipped police off in January, but Angela Hensey wasn't arrested until this week.

CCSD Police said Hensey had sexual contact with a 16-year-old student. But they said she wouldn't cooperate with the investigation, which is why the arrest took so long.

Police said concerns were raised after rides home from practice between Hensey and the student.

Now, many parents are wondering if there was a background check.

"All official volunteer coaches must go through fingerprinting and application process with the school district," said Sgt. Mitch Maciszak, CCSD Police.

Police said they began investigating the allegations less than a month after Hensey started as a volunteer coach.
