Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Troopers will be keeping an even closer eye on drivers using freeways around the Valley starting on Wednesday.
The Southern Nevada Traffic Task Force is planning extra patrols along Interstate 15 and the 95 beginning at 7 a.m.
Troopers are on the lookout for drivers who speed, follow too closely or text behind the wheel. The goal is to reduce the number of crashes.
The task force includes members of NHP, Metro, Henderson and North Las Vegas Police.
We're told the last patrol in April resulted in roughly 500 tickets issued.
