Coroner IDs man dead in weekend Vegas hit-run
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities have identified a 60-year-old man who died in a fatal hit-and-run in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Clark County coroner's officials say Herbert Towns Parker died of his injuries after he was hit about 11 p.m. Saturday on Jones Boulevard, near Saddle Avenue.
Police initially had little information about the driver of the SUV who hit him. The suspect's Nissan Xterra was found down the road a short time later.
Officials say 33-year-old Las Vegas resident Elizabeth Meza turned herself in Sunday evening and was booked on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
