Four Henderson stores caught selling alcohol to kids
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Four Henderson businesses were busted over the weekend for selling alcohol to minors.
The Henderson Police Department, with the assistance of underage volunteers, checked 78 convenience stores, grocery stores and liquor stores early Sunday morning.
Of the 78 establishments, 74 did not sell alcohol to the undercover teenagers.
The businesses that failed the compliance check were:
-- CVS, 1551 W. Sunset Road
-- Green Valley Grocery, 902 S. Boulder Highway
-- Lee’s Discount Liquor, 4427 E. Sunset Road
-- Whole Foods, 100 S. Green Valley Parkway
The clerks that sold the alcohol are facing a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
If the business is caught a second or third time selling alcohol to those to young to buy it, they can also be issued a citation and could face the revocation of their business license.
Six businesses that failed a compliance check in the past were also checked on Sunday. All six of those passed.
It was the first time for all four businesses that failed on Sunday.
