July prelim set for accused killers of NV official
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- A judge in Carson City has scheduled a preliminary hearing in July for the four suspects charged with killing Nevada's chief insurance examiner and dumping his body in the Carson River.
The three men and a woman arrested after William McCune's body was found in the river wrapped in a blanket and duct tape April 6 appeared in district court Thursday on open murder charges.
The 20-year-old woman accused of driving the other three to the 62-year-old McCune's apartment told detectives the men beat him and robbed him while she waited outside in the vehicle.
Judge John Tatro scheduled the preliminary hearing for July 9-12 for Makayla Blackmore, 23-year-old Michael Evans, 23-year-old Raul Garcia and 20-year-old Anthony Elliott.
All four are from the Carson City area.
