Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Action News is happy to pass along new information on the man who's been battling a flesh-eating bacteria.
Eddie Garcia is out of the hospital; he was discharged and sent home to Henderson on Wednesday.
In just a few short weeks, Eddie has learned to use his prosthetic legs with a walker, after losing his legs and hands to the bacteria.
But Eddie has never lost his spirit, "I went against all the odds and I'm here. I'm here at home and I'm gonna spend the night with my wife and my kids and it's just incredible."
Because he's been such an inspiration to so many people, on May 7, the City of Henderson will issue a proclamation in his name.
In June, he'll be the honorary speaker for the Department of Parks and Recreation.
