Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Clark County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday that a U.S. Marshal who fatally shot an Arizona fugitive will not face charges.
Thomas Domagala, 27, was wanted on several felony warrants for crimes in Arizona.
On September 19, the Nevada Fugitive Task Force located Domagala in a North Las Vegas neighborhood near Cheyenne Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
After a brief car chase, Domagala fled on foot with a loaded gun and ran towards an officer. When he refused to drop his weapon and continued towards the officer, the U.S. Marshal fired one shot at Domagala. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
District Attorney Steve Wolfson said the U.S. Marshal was left with no choice but to defend himself, the officers with him and the citizens in the area.
DA Wolfson ruled the U.S. Marshal acted lawfully and therefore will not face criminal charges.
