Boston (KTNV) -- The FBI has now taken the lead into the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombings.
At this point, they are not speculating on a motive or who may have carried out the attack on April 15.
Investigators are pouring over the dramatic video taken at the finish line and bomb technicians are studying burn marks at the scene of the explosions.
And, at the hospitals, doctors are collecting bits of shrapnel from their patients.
Officials believe that the bombs were two small, portable devices that were possibly hidden in backpacks.
The devices may have been detonated by a cellphone.
So far, there are no suspects although officials are tracking multiple persons of interest including a young man of Middle Eastern descent who was treated at a local hospital.
Officials say that two other unexploded bombs were also found near the marathon's course but were safely disarmed.
