Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Board members are trying to figure out how to move forward, including whether to hire a search firm to find a replacement for former superintendent Dwight Jones.
The trustees already agreed to move forward with a national search, possibly using the same search firm they used to hire Jones.
But at Wednesday's meeting, they were supposed to make that decision official with a vote.
But for the second time, they tabled it for another meeting.
For more than four hours, the Clark County Board of Trustees bickered over the issue of hiring an outside firm to find their new superintendent.
At the center of the frustrating ordeal is the interim superintendent, Pat Skorkowsky. Many at Wednesday's meeting feel he should replace Dwight Jones.
But no one will get the job done until the trustees decide who gets it. Many are still handling the shock of Jones stepping down. Some are cautious not to replace him too quickly from an outside firm.
The next time the issue will be back on the trustee's agenda is May 20. There was supposed to be public input this month on how to move forward, but those meetings will have to be postponed.
