Nevada woman dead, Idaho man hurt in Utah crash
AXTELL, Utah (AP) -- A 20-year-old Nevada woman is dead and an Idaho man is injured after a head-on crash in central Utah.
Utah Highway Patrol officials say Moapa resident Marissa Watkins wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from her car in the accident a little before 1 p.m. Monday.
Troopers say Watkins was driving a Saturn sedan north on State Route 89 in Sanpete County when she veered off the road. Authorities say she overcorrected and crossed the center line, then collided with a southbound Nissan sedan.
Officials say the 68-year-old Nissan driver from Nampa was injured and later airlifted to a Provo hospital.
Authorities say it doesn't appear that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
