(KTNV) -- North Korea announced overnight that it is planning on restarting its main nuclear plant.
When fully operational, the plant could produce enough material for one atomic bomb each year.
It is the latest volley of rhetoric that has raised the fears of war.
North Korea has threatened to launch attacks against the U.S., cut ties with South Korea, and declare nuclear weapons a top priority.
The U.S. military is taking the threats seriously. A Navy destroyer is on its way to the region.
But, the Pentagon is making clear that it is being careful not to overreact and risk escalating the situation.
