School district officials survey parents to improve education
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Leaders are working on new ways to improve education conditions in Clark County, and they're turning to parents to help.
The district launched this year's parent survey on Monday at Ruby S. Thomas Elementary near Desert Inn and Maryland Parkway.
Parents are able to weigh in on safety, academics and even staff friendliness, and they have a lot of opinions about what should happen first.
The surveys are part of the plan to increase parent and community involvement in schools.
The principal at Ruby S. Thomas said he's opening up computers at the school to parents who may not have internet access at home, all to encourage their feedback.
"We get parents that come on out and participate, and plus I get to know parents personally that way, and get their input and feedback on things like that as well," said Principal Dennis Kubala.
The parent survey is also available online.
