Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- John Bonaventura's office could be shut down sooner than expected, if a new bill passes the Legislature.
State Senator Michael Roberson is backing a proposal that would abolish the troubled Las Vegas Township Constable's Office effective July 1; that's 18 months sooner than expected.
The Clark County Commissioners voted to abolish Bonaventura's office when his term ends in 2015.
County officials plan to shift the work over to Sheriff Doug Gillespie's civil process section.
The bill faces a hearing on Monday in the Senate Government Affairs Committee.
