2 people injured in fire near Stewart and Sandhill

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Two people were injured during a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon in the 100 block of Vallejo Avenue, near East Stewart Avenue and North Sandhill Road.
According to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, the fire was reported at about 1:37 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a fire had started between two houses and had spread to both houses because of the wind.
Two people were injured by the fire. One man burned his feet while running across the front yard, which was on fire.
The other person that was injured was a wheelchair-bound woman. She was discovered in a backyard suffering from smoke inhalation.
Both people were taken to the hospital.
Five people in all were displaced. Two people from one house and three from the other.
It appears that the fire was accidental although the cause has not been determine. Damage is estimated at $250,000.
Firefighters from Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Clark County responded to the fire.
The American Red Cross is helping the two adults that were displaced.
