Pair sentenced for selling counterfeit documents
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A pair of Mexican nationals were sentenced to prison on Friday for selling counterfeit documents.
38-year-old Jose Navarro-Parra and 30-year-old Libia Bustillos-Gonzalez will spend two to five years in prison.
Navarro-Parra and Bustillos-Gonzalez were arrested in March 2012 when police and special agents found equipment used to make counterfeit documents and $18,000 cash in their homes.
Investigators said it was one of the largest document counterfeiting operations uncovered in the Las Vegas area.
They would allegedly sell the documents at local swap meets and send them to other parts of the U.S. Those documents included green cards, social security cards and driver's licenses.
Navarro-Parra and Bustillos-Gonzalez pleaded guilty to state charges in January.
The pair will face deportation following their sentences.
