Collision kills one on U.S. 95, north of Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on U.S. 95 about 10 miles north of Durango Drive.
According to initial reports, a car traveling the wrong direction hit a truck heading north on U.S. 95. The person driving the wrong way was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was transported to a local hospital.
The incident was reported at 5:09 a.m. this morning.
Another crash involving five cars took place shortly after the fatal. At this time, no injuries have been reported because of that incident.
NHP and the Department of Transportation is advising of heavy delays for anyone traveling north. All lanes were blocked by the fatal collision but traffic is being allowed to pass on the shoulder.
The wrong-way driver that was killed in the collision will be identified by the Clark County coroner after notification of relatives.
