Las Vegas hits 80 degrees for the first time this year
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas hit 80 degrees on Wednesday for the first time this year.
The last time temperatures hit 80 degrees was November 7, 2012.
According to the National Weather Service, the average first date for Las Vegas to reach 80 degrees or higher is March 16.
The earliest 80-degree day on record was February 1, 2003.
Chief Meteorologist Bryan Scofield predicts temperatures will reach 84 degrees on Thursday before spiking to 86 on Friday.
The balmy temperatures will continue throughout the weekend, with a high of 85 expected on Saturday and a high of 80 degrees on Sunday.
Early next week, temperatures are likely to sink back to the high 70s.
