Agents arrest 12 suspects in Las Vegas gang sweep

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Officers and agents from numerous law enforcement jurisdictions arrested 12 members of a violent gang on Thursday during "Operation Washout."

The arrests began after undercover officers purchased approximately five pounds of methamphetamine from several suspects near the intersection of Charleston and Lamb Boulevards.

Following that incident five coordinated search warrants were served throughout the Valley at the following locations:

- 4200 block of Middlesex Avenue
- 4700 block of Lucite Lane
- 2200 block of Daley Street in North Las Vegas
- 1500 block of South Christy Lane
- 3300 block of South Arville Street

Arrested during this operation on various narcotic charges were:

- Jorge Alejandro Acosta, 22, North Las Vegas
- Manuel Cardusorafael, 23, North Las Vegas
- Guadalupe Tamayo, 26, North Las Vegas
- Edgar Robles, 24, North Las Vegas
- Roberto Nabarro, 29, Las Vegas
- Fabian Sarmiento, 19, North Las Vegas
- Claudia Madrid-Valdez, 30, Las Vegas
- Lleimmy Madrid-Valez, 22, Las Vegas
- Jonathan Vega, 19, Las Vegas

Three additional suspects were also arrested on federal charges.

Seized during this event were 21.1 pounds of methamphetamine, 25.3 grams of cocaine and 5.6 ounces of marijuana.

Three rifles, including two assault rifles and three handguns were impounded.

"Operation Washout" was led by the Clark County Gang Task Force, a HIDTA funded organization, which is compromised of officers from Metro's Gang Crimes Bureau and agents from the DEA.

This investigation remains ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.
