Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- On Saturday, March 2 from 1-11 p.m., Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York Hotel & Casino is hosting the St. Baldrick’s Day head shaving event to raise money for cancer research.
Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy a fun-filled day on the New York-New York Brooklyn Bridge with live performances by Spazmatics, Phoenix and Ri-Ra, festive drinks and more. Participants will be shedding their locks in support of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a national organization funding research for childhood cancer.
In exchange for their tresses, shavees can take advantage of a special “shavecation” package at New York-New York featuring hotel accommodations, 2-for-1 admission to The Roller Coaster, 2-for-1 breakfast at Il Fornaio and half off daybeds at the pool. As an added bonus, any adult who shaves their head will receive a free pint of beer at Nine Fine Irishmen and children will receive a free ride on The Roller Coaster. Participants will also be given free admission to Celtic Feis, a three-day Irish festival at New York-New York on St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
Last year, more than 200 people came together to go bald, raising more than $100,000 for cancer research - this year’s event will keep up the momentum by matching last year with a fundraising goal of $100,000 to benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Participants interested in shaving their heads for the cause can register online for $50 or register day-of on site. Group registration is also available for teams and organizations.
