Families of the victims in the tragic event on the Las Vegas Strip, greeted news of an arrest in the case with sadness and relief.

Attorney Robert Beckett told Action News, "The Cherry family says they are elated over the news that Kenny's killer has been arrested, however, on the day of Kenny's funeral, this news is bittersweet."

Greco Law Group partners Vicki Greco and Bob Beckett spoke on behalf of Kenny Cherry Jr.'s family in Oakland, California, where he was laid to rest on Thursday.

Vicki Greco said, "They want to thank the media for giving them the opportunity to grieve in peace for their son, brother, grandson and friend."

The law partners said, the family also looks forward to their day in court.

According to Beckett, "Mr. Cherry said to me, quote;:"It is consoling to know that the state of Nevada has the death penalty."

Greco said the family wants to emphasize, Kenny Cherry Jr. was a victim in the shooting that claimed his life, and sparked a fiery crash that claimed the lives of Desert Cab driver Michael Boldon Sr. and his passenger, Sandra Sutton-Wasmund.

She told Action News, "Nobody, whether they're Black, White, a criminal or not a criminal; that is unarmed in America deserves to be gunned down in that fashion."

The Boldon family plans to hold a press conference on Friday.
