Fugitive dies after shootout with FBI agent in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The fugitive involved in a shootout with an FBI agent on Tuesday has died.
FBI officials have identified him as 32-year-old Javier Solomon Reyes.
The incident began Tuesday afternoon in a neighborhood near Charleston and Nellis.
FBI agents and local police were working to serve an arrest warrant to Reyes, who was wanted for robbery with a deadly weapon and multiple carjackings.
When authorities came in contact with the Reyes at about 2:45 p.m., gunfire was exchanged between him and an FBI agent.
Both Reyes and the agent were taken to University Medical Center to be treated.
The FBI agent, who was wearing a protective vest at the time of the shooting, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was released overnight.
Reyes suffered serious injuries and died at the hospital.
FBI officials said Reyes had no current Las Vegas address at the time of the shooting.
