Coroner IDs man dead after hitting wall in Vegas

CREATED Feb. 19, 2013

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities have identified a 42-year-old man who died after his car hit a cinder block wall in Las Vegas.

Clark County coroner's officials say Las Vegas resident Marin Petrov was killed in the crash about 3:30 a.m. Monday on West Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard.

His 31-year-old male passenger was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

Authorities say Petrov's Lincoln Continental was traveling west when it slid toward the curb and left the roadway.

Photos from the scene showed a large section of the wall was knocked out by the impact.

The crash marks the 21st traffic-related death in Las Vegas police jurisdiction this year.
