Gas prices rise almost 70 cents in one month in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A big increase in gasoline prices was seen last week in the Las Vegas valley.
Gas rose 17.8 cents per gallon to an average of $3.64 as of Feb. 16, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 649 gas outlets in Las Vegas.
Nationally, the average price increased 11.9 cents per gallon to a cost of $3.68 per gallon.
Prices are now 11.5 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 62.9 cents per gallon higher than one month ago.
The national average has increased 42.2 cents per gallon during the last month and is currently 16.7 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
An analyst with GasBuddy says the increase is likely to continue following double-digit increases in wholesale prices because of fuel production tightening in the majority of the country's refineries.
